About
Data Platform Engineer currently at Cedar Electronics. I design full-scale data systems, pipelines, and schemas, and I own the analytics infrastructure that teams actually rely on. I care more about long-term integrity and compliance than short-term speed. Data platforms built quickly get questioned — the ones built with purpose and intent last forever.
Philosophy
Every pipeline, dashboard, and model I build starts with one question: who actually uses this? Good architecture stays out of the way and delivers answers before anyone has to go digging.
Unlimited flexibility just means you're putting off decisions. I'd rather enforce meaning at the schema level than debug it in the middle of the night. Clear boundaries make systems you can actually trust.
The goal isn't elegant code for its own sake. It's a system nobody has to think about. I build for the point where the tech fades away and the work just gets done.
The best systems are built with compliance baked in from day one. It's not an afterthought.
Stack & Expertise
Python
Daily driver since 2019. Core of every production pipeline I've shipped at Cedar Electronics.
SQL / PostgreSQL
Schema design and query tuning for the analytics layer — 10M+ events/day modeled, indexed, and queryable.
AWS (ECS)
Led the IaC design for the ECS platform handling 10M+ events daily at enterprise scale.
Cloudflare
Production deploy target for this site — Workers, D1-backed blog, Pages build pipeline.
TypeScript / Next.js
Designed and shipped this site end-to-end — App Router, D1-backed blog, GSAP animation.

Journey
After years of being self-taught, I finally decided to attend school to obtain my Bachelor's and Master's in Software Engineering at the same time.
Led the design of ECS IaC infrastructure handling 10M+ events daily at enterprise scale for Cedar Electronics.
Started my career as a contracted data engineer, building production pipelines and figuring out how to make data more useful through good design.
Started teaching myself Python, SQL, and database engines. Got hooked on understanding how data moves through a system.
Served in the U.S. Army as military police, where discipline and leadership became second nature.
